Bio
Polly Toombs is a Santa Cruz-based glassblowing instructor whose work blends vivid color, grounded technique, and a deep appreciation for artistic storytelling. Her favorite palette — Turbo Amethyst and Double Mai Tai over white — creates bold, eye-catching contrasts that reflect her vibrant approach to glass.

Polly’s creative roots trace back to Bonny Doon Art Glass and the mentorship of John Forbes, whose influence still guides her work today. Whether she’s shaping molten glass or making quilts and cooking up something delicious, Polly’s creativity shows up in both form and function.

She’s inspired by a favorite lyric:

“Some of the times you get shone the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.”
— a line that mirrors her ability to find beauty and meaning in unexpected moments.

With a love for mixed media on the horizon and a knack for juggling (yes, literally), Polly brings both playfulness and depth to everything she touches.
